Our practice is owned by the doctors who work here. Some local medical centres nowadays are owned by out of town businessmen. The Nambour Medical Centre is owned and operated by the doctors who work in the practice.

Principals
Dr Andrew Wall
Andrew graduated from the University of Queensland in 1997. He has worked on the Sunshine Coast since 2001 initially at Nambour General Hospital before joining Nambour Medical Centre in 2002 as a registrar and then as partner. Andrew is married with 2 daughters and a son. He has a passion for gardening and rugby and is looking forward to more time travelling in the future. Andrew is interested in all aspects of family and general practice medicine.
Dr Justine Lutkin
Dr Justine Lutkin graduated from the University of Queensland in 2008 with Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery having previously studied music and anthropology. Justine worked for several years at the RBWH and in general practice at a number of surgeries in Brisbane. Justine is interested in all aspects of general practice, and particularly enjoys working as a family doctor.
Tenant Doctors
These are Independent Contract Medical Practitioners that work out of the Nambour Medical Centre’s premises, under their own ABN and are responsible for their own conduct and professional registration.
Dr Geoff Norman
Geoff is married with 3 children. Originally studied and worked in Sydney, he then spent 4 years in England before settling on the coast. Geoff is passionate about GP learning and has been involved in the RACGP's education and supervision of young GPs for over 25 years. He has particular interests in preventative health care and chronic illness management e.g. heart disease, diabetes. If you too, share one his sporting injuries, he may be able to help you. Geoff is a devotee of Mediterranean food, cycling holidays and Queensland Rugby.
Dr Taye Chai
Taye has been a GP since 2004, when she first started as a training GP at NMC. She studied medicine at the University of Qld in Brisbane and did her residency at Nambour Hospital. She works one month out of every three in rural and remote areas of Australia which are struggling to get doctors. So far, her locum work has taken her to the Kimberleys in WA, Alice Springs, Mornington Island and Tasmania.
Taye has an interest in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, family medicine from babies to elder care, women’s health, skin and chronic health care.
Taye loves staying active bush walking, gardening and skiing and loves travel, chickens and fishing. She is the mum to two grown boys.
Taye’s books are currently open to her regular patients only (seen within the last 12 months).
Dr Alicia Lorenz
We welcome Dr Alicia Lorenz to our Practice. Dr Alicia completed a Bachelor of Pharmacy at the University of Queensland in 2004 to be followed by a Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery in 2009.
She is interested in all aspects of family medicine & would love to meet you to discuss your health requirements or concerns.
Dr Ben Tay
Dr Benjamin Tay graduated from Griffith University in 2015. Born and bred in Brisbane, he has worked at public hospitals in SE Queensland before commencing and completing specialist GP training on the Sunshine Coast. Ben is a full-time husband and dad. Beyond family time he enjoys a range of sports, podcasts listening, drumming and long chats with friends. He has completed the Sydney Child Health Program and has interest in all areas of general practice and family medicine.
Dr Alison Hanks
Dr Alison Hanks graduated medicine in 2013 and completed general practice training in Cairns. She now enjoys living on the Sunshine Coast with her husband and young family. Alison provides care in all aspects of general practice with a particular interest in child health, women's health and family planning. She has a passion for helping families navigate the early years and has done additional study in lactation medicine and allergic disease. She is a qualified International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and has completed the Sydney Child Health Program.

Dr David Gillis
Dr Gillis graduated from Sydney University in 1983 and has subsequently qualified for a Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Dr Gillis has experience in obstetrics, gynaecology, acupuncture, paediatrics, and emergency medicine in addition to General practice.
Dr Stephanie Weinrauch
Dr Stephanie Weinrauch graduated from Otago University N.Z in 1981, having previously completed a degree in physiology. She has worked in her own G.P Practice in Brisbane, and later for several surgeries in Brisbane and Sydney. She is interested in all aspects of General Practice, with a particular interest in Chronic Disease Management.

Dr Ben Mezzacappa
Ben grew up in Victoria and completed his medical degree at Monash University’s Gippsland campus, graduating in 2016. He has a strong background in Emergency Medicine, having worked across both metropolitan and rural settings. Ben enjoys all aspects of General Practice, with particular interests in men’s health, occupational health, chronic disease management, and preventative medicine. He values getting to know his patients and building long-term, therapeutic relationships with a patient-centred approach. Outside of medicine, Ben enjoys spending time with his wife and newborn daughter, as well as gardening, carpentry, and the outdoors.
Dr Rowan Casella
Originally from Cairns, Rowan completed his medical degree at James Cook University in 2020. He relocated to the Sunshine Coast in 2023 and has worked across a range of hospitals in both the Cairns and Sunshine Coast regions. Rowan has a broad interest in all aspects of General Practice and is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time on the golf course and walking his dog along the beach with his wife.
Dr Elizabeth (Liz) English
Liz grew up in Brisbane and moved to the Sunshine Coast in 2011. She completed her medical degree through Griffith University and holds a Bachelor of Health Science (Nutrition and Dietetics). She has worked at various hospitals across the region prior to joining our team and is interested in all aspects of general practice. Liz is kept busy with her two children and husband. When not at work she enjoys camping, bushwalking and running.
